1) How do I know if the Porometer is measuring correctly? +

The only way to be sure your tester is measuring correctly, is to have it checked against a known and traceable reference. A calibration provides such a service.

2) Why does the Porometer need routine calibration/verification ? +

Even the very best quality equipment can be affected by external influences that could affect the soundness of the system. The accuracy tolerance of flow meters and pressure gauges tend to drift over time. Major/minor air leaks can cause considerable impact on data accuracy. Regular calibration and verification provide essential evidence that your equipment is operating to its full potential.

1 year or 200 tests (whichever earlier)
